Steven R. Knight

Steven Knight, Ed.D., from Wisconsin was a devoted educator.  He spent his career shaping young minds as an English middle school teacher, where his patience, humor, and genuine belief in his students left a lasting mark. His doctorate in education reflected not only his academic dedication, but his unwavering commitment to teaching with heart.

He had a deep love for words, especially poetry and letters. He was always willing to open his mind and heart to send a letter or article he thought would interest a loved one.  He could come up with a new name for anything and it automatically stuck, whether it be a nickname for a drink or a new game he just invented.

He found joy in the natural world, fishing the waters of New England and camping whenever given the opportunity. Tending to plants, grilling brats, listening to music, and savoring the warmth and comfort of wool in all its forms.  The outdoors was his refuge, and he carried his gear and supplies with him at all times, prepared for any scenario. 

More than anything, he loved his family and friends. He was the kind of person who was always the first to show up—ready to help paint a house, build a deck, tackle a project, or simply sit by a fire. His generosity, kindness, and steady presence made life better for those around him.

Steven is survived by his mother, Sarah Schultz, and his siblings Marc Knight (Danielle), Adam Knight, and Leah Weber (Eric).   He was preceded in death by his father, Marc “Axel” Demske.  Special thanks to Steven’s close friends, Bone, James, and Sci-Fi.
